Body Position

Body position is the one skill that I teach the very first hour for the newest of new riders, but what I teach during that hour is just as important for the highest level riders who I've ever coached.  At 1:11 into this video you can see one of my coaches riding the most difficult feature I've ever seen anyone in real life ride.  The feature is called "Ugly Ape," and it is a pro line in Whistler Bike Park.  It is about 3 stories tall with a mandatory drop towards the bottom.  He is riding it in the wet on a bike that is too small for him.  I walked up to the top and looked off of it, but I was afraid to get too close to the edge, for fear of plummeting.  Of course I will never ride this feature, and I doubt you will either.  But what he has taught me about body position that is demoed in his riding down this feature is crucial no matter whether you prefer cross country, trail riding, enduro, or downhill.  This knowledge alone is worth the price of Ground Control 1 where I thoroughly explain it.

"Ugly Ape," A Pro Line, Whistler Bike Park (Rider Unknown)

Hardly anyone will be able to ride the above feature, but I've helped many clients conquer "Blood Rock."  A challenging XC feature ridden on a hardtail this video.
