Cahaba Cycles Mountain Bike Discovery Ride

March 24, 2019

2 p.m. South Trailhead at Oak Mountain State Park

  • Great opportunity for adults to check out the sport of mountain biking
  • Mountain bike rentals at a discount through Cahaba Cycles
  • Certified professional mountain bike instructor as your guide
  • Nationally acclaimed trail system
  • Non-threatening coed environment for beginners
  • (Optional) a few free mountain bike skills tips
  • Please note: This ride is not intended to take the place of one of my skills camps described here.  It is meant as a primer to a skills camp, and we will likely only ride the Lake Trail together.  After that, everyone is free to continue to explore other trails on their own.

If you would like to read my waiver ahead of time, that will save us a little time the day of the ride.  No need to print it off; I will have hard copies for each rider to sign.

Default meeting time and place

This is monthly ride on the second Sunday of each month at 2pm.  Of course, holiday, weather, my skills camp schedule, as well as other circumstances, can change the ride.  Any changes will be posted on this page as early as possible, but in case of weather, no later than 2 hours before the scheduled time of the ride.

(You will need a $5 entry fee.)  This is the only cost of the ride.

I have a 2018, black, Ford F-150, with a "Singletrack Skills" wrap on it.  I will be parked as close to the field as possible on the cooler days and in the shade on the hotter days as close to the bike wash as possible, which is near the pavilion closest to the parking lot, provided I can find a parking spot.  Feel free to park in the parking lot, as there is no room in the field.
